Apple Updates AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware With Bug Fixes And Improvements

Apple has released a maintenance update for their AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule devices, bringing the firmware version number up to 7.6.4. The update is available for all of Apple’s 802.11n-enabled base station devices, and fixes a variety of bugs and performance issues.

From the release notes:

AirPort Base Station Firmware Update 7.6.4

– Resolve an issue that may cause AirPort Time Capsule to report that the backup disk is in use
– Resolve an issue that may cause an IPv6 Tunnel error
– Resolve an issue that may intermittently cause a loss in Wi-Fi connectivity with iOS devices

Note: This firmware update is for all 802.11n AirPort base stations.

 

The update is available now via the built-in firmware update feature in AirPort Utility for Mac. If the update does not pop up automatically, it can be searched out by clicking your device icon n the app, then tapping Update.
