Geekbench 3 Updated – 15 New Benchmark Tests, First Update Since 2007

Developer Primate Labs has announced the release of Geekbench 3 – The first major update to their popular benchmarking service since 2007.

MacRumors:

This third iteration of Geekbench features 15 completely new benchmark tests that are designed to mimic real-world processor tasks, such as image and signal processing, encryption, and physics simulation that aim to give a more accurate score of the processing power of computers and mobile devices.

Benchmark tests that were imported from Geekbench 2 have been completely rewritten, in order to better represent real-world usage.

Geekbench 3 also features a completely new scoring system, with separate single-core and multi-core results.

The iOS version of Geekbench has also been updated, and the new look matches the flatter look of the iOS 7 interface. Dropbox integration is also included, so results can be shared without using the Geekbench Browser. An archive feature is also available to view previous benchmarks.

If you purchase Geekbench 3 before August 31st, you’ll get a single-platform license for $9.99 instead of the regular $14.99 price. Cross-Platform licenses are also available at a discount until the 31st, with a cross-platform license going for $14.99 instead of $24.99. The cross-platform license works across OS X, Windows and Linux. A professional license will cost you $149.99 instead of $199.99 during the introductory period.

A demo version of Geekbench 3 can be downloaded from Primate Labs’ website.

There are also separate versions available for both iOS [DIRECT LINK] and Android devices. [DIRECT LINK] The price is $0.99 for either mobile platform.
