T-Mobile CEO: ‘There’s a whole array of Apple products that we look forward to carrying”

Following T-Mobile’s recent earnings release, which revealed a significant jump in their overall customer base during the previous quarter (attributed is significant part to offering the iPhone for the first time), T-Mobile CEO John Legere took a moment to tease that the carrier will soon expand their Apple offerings to a number of additional products as well.

While lauding T-Mobile’s success with their new “UnCarrier” program, the launch of the T-Mobile iPhone, and more in an interview with AllThingsD, Legere spilled the beans:

Legere said it is a good sign that the iPhone is only a portion of the company’s sales growth, accounting for just 21 percent of smartphone sales last quarter.

“I think it’s a healthy percentage,” Legere said.

That said, Legere looks forward to more business with Apple, including carrying products beyond the iPhone.

“I think there’s a whole array of Apple products that we look forward to carrying,” Legere said. “We will expand what we offer from them.”

As for what Lagere might be referring to, the best guess would be that he’s nodding towards Apple’s expected next-gen iPhone hardware (and rumored budget iPhone) release this fall. It’s also quite possible that T-Mobile could begin offering the iPad in the near future. Either way, it’s good news for Apple fans and T-Mobile customers alike.
