Apple’s iPhone Trade-In Program Rolls Out in the UK

We reported last week that Apple was preparing to go live with its iPhone trade-in program in the UK. The program, similar to the one the company offers in the U.S., has now launched. And the UK program, much like its stateside counterpart, while offering convenience, doesn’t necessarily offer the best return.

9to5Mac:

I just priced-up my 32GB iPhone 4S in mint condition, and Apple will offer me £160 ($255) against a typical ebay completed sale price of £375 ($600). With that kind of price differential, you’d really have to place a huge amount of value on the convenience of being able to complete the transaction in-store.

However, for those who don’t want to hassle with mailing in their iPhone to a online buyer, or bother with a private sales, it’s definitely an option to keep in mind if you’re looking to get a bit of the price knocked off of your shiny new iPhone 5s.
