“Open in iBooks” Button in iTunes Indicates Imminent Launch of OS X Mavericks

If you’re running iTunes under OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion you may have noticed an “Open in iBooks” button in place of the previous “Download” button for books you have previously purchased.

9to5Mac:

The button, while functionless on Mountain Lion, is yet another indication of the imminent launch of OS X Mavericks late this month. Clicking the button on a computer running Mavericks will indeed open the selected book in the all-new iBooks application.

This is just the latest in a series of indicators that Apple is prepping the imminent release of OS X Mavericks. Apple recently released the Golden Master of Mavericks to developers, and began training their support staff on the new OS, Also, developers are now being asked to submit their OS X Mavericks compatible apps.
