Apple Begins U.S. Sales of Unlocked SIM-Free iPhone 5s

Apple has begun selling an unlocked GSM version of the iPhone 5s in its online store in the United States. The phone, which has the same features and capabilities as its locked brethren, does not include a SIM card.

The unlocked model works on both the AT&T and T-Mobile networks. And will work with compatible SIM cards without a contract. The SIM-free iPhone 5s comes in 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB storage sizes for $649, $749, and $849 respectively, and is available in the same space gray, silver, and gold color options as the locked models.

The unlocked iPhone 5s is available online in the Apple Store, and currently has shipping estimates of 1-2 weeks. The phones will likely soon become available in Apple retail stores.
