Apple Reportedly Set to Launch New Mac Pro on December 16

Apple has already told the world that their shiny new black aluminum trash can Mac Pro will officially go on sale sometime in December – but now that December has arrived, there’s still no sign of official sales at the Apple Online Store or Apple’s retail stores. A German Apple retailer claims to offer a clue regarding the launch, however, claiming that sales are officially set to begin on December 16.

Besides just claiming a December 16 launch date, French site MacGeneration reports (via MacRumors) that German Apple reseller Conrad Electronic has even begun taking advance orders for the device ahead of the launch. Indeed, Electronista reports that the site has waffled back and forth on Mac Pro launch dates several times already:

The launch is thought to be held back, at least in part, by the brand new Ivy Bridge desktop processors that Apple is using in the Machines. The processors launched in September, and appear to have been rather slow in terms of production.

While it’s not clear whether Conrad is making an educated guess, or has insider knowledge (which seems quite unlikely), the timing doesn’t seem far off. But then again, with less than 30 possible days to choose from, it’s really anybody’s guess at this point.

We’ll let you know when we hear more!
