If you were planing on buying some holiday music via iTunes, or an app on your iOS device or Mac, you may run into a snag. Users are reporting that they’re receiving error messages when attempting to log into their accounts using their Apple ID.

The problem, which seems to have originated last night, is ongoing according to a thread on Apple’s online Support Communities and multiple users onMacRumors’ forums. The error occurs on both mobile devices and Macs and according to user reports, it is affecting the App Store, the Mac App Store, the iTunes Store, and the iBookstore.
While Apple’s System Status page isn’t reporting any issues, a MacRumors reader who called AppleCare says they admitted that there had been problems with Apple ID logins. The publication reports that yesterday, some users were getting a different error: “This Apple ID cannot be used for the iTunes Store. Please enter another Apple ID.”
What about you? Have you had any problems logging in with your Apple ID today?
I get the error. I log out and log back in and it’s good for a while. Hour maybe. Then bam it happens again.
Weird, I’ve done four separate installs of Mavericks and didn’t see it. But I might have gotten lucky too.
