Some Mac Users Reporting That OS X 10.9.2 Breaks AirPlay Mirroring

Some Mac users are reporting that after applying the OS X 10.9.2 update to their Mac, they’ve discovered that AirPlay Mirroring and extension of desktops to external displays is “broken.”

AppleInsider:

Multiple readers have reported similar issues to those described by the Support Communities’ forum members, many of whom have seen problems with AirPlay Mirroring in OS X after updating to OS X 10.9.2.

Apple released the update on Monday to fix a number of issues.

One of the larger forum threads shows users reporting various types of AirPlay failures. One user reports he no longer sees AirPlay Mirroring as a selectable option in the AirPlay menu. Others report receiving only audio, but no video. Other users report problems with AirPlay’s desktop extension function.

We tried AirPlay to our Apple TV here, using a third-generation Apple TV, running the latest updated software, and an early 2011 15-in MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.2, and everything worked as it should.

How about you? Have you ran into any issues with AirPlay to your Apple TV under OS X 10.9.2? Please, let us know in the comments section below.
