Popular Tasks and To-Do List App Clear to Go Free for a 24-Hour Period

Realmac, maker of the popular tasks and to-do list apps Clear+ and Clear, has elected to return to a single universal Clear app, and will also be offering the Clear app free for two 24-hour periods.

Realmac:

As many of you know, late last year we released a new version of Clear. This new version called Clear+ was built for iOS 7, and a universal app for iPhone and iPad. It was also a new app, in effect a paid upgrade for our customers. Believing that this new app was the best thing for our customers – after all, a universal app was our biggest feature request – we removed the original version of Clear from the store. Shortly after the launch, it became obvious we’d made a huge mistake.

So, Realmac will be dropping the price of the original Clear – which will be upgraded to a Universal app – to free in order to allow users to migrate to the app without needing to pay again. The app will be available free for two separate 24-hour periods “in the coming weeks.”

If you want to be notified when the free period kicks in, you can sign up on the Clear website. If you own the original Clear, you don’t need to do anything, as you’ll continue to receive upgrades.
