Apple TV Gets an Update to Version 6.1 – Allows Easier Hiding of Channel Icons

Another update in a busy Apple update day sees the Apple TV getting its software updated to version 6.1. The update adds a most-welcome feature that allows users to hide unwanted channel icons form the main screen without needing to visit the Parental Controls menu.

MacRumors:

The hiding feature joins an already existing rearranging feature, letting users further customize their Apple TV home screens as the number of channels has grown significantly in recent months.

To arrange or hide an icon, just highlight an icon in the main menu and then press and hold on the Select button of the remote control until the icon jiggles. You can then move the icon by using the directional button on your remote control, or by pressing the Play/Pause button on your remote, you can access more options, including “Hide.”

You can download the Apple TV 6.1 software update by going to: “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update.”
