Apple to Celebrate Earth Day 2014 in Its Stores and Campus on April 22nd

Apple will celebrate Earth Day 2014 in its retail stores, and on its Cupertino campus on April 22nd. Earth Day is the annual celebration of the earth, and focuses on environmental protection and initiatives.

9to5Mac:

Each year, the Earth Day organization focuses the April 22nd celebrations on certain environmental topics. 2014′s topic is known as “Green Cities,” and this is a focus on more environmentally efficient buildings, transportation, and cities.

Apple will honor Earth Day in its stores by covering the Apple logos in green. Apple has performed similar changes to its logo in the past, such as changing the logo color to red in honor of World AIDS day. Employees in some stores may be given new Earth Day shirts to wear on the 22nd, and Cupertino employees report there is a large-scale internal event to be held on April 22nd, it is likely that its focus will be Earth Day.

Apple’s last public celebration of Earth Day was in 2006, when it announced a computer take-back program the day before Earth Day.
