First-Generation Apple TVs Once Again Able to Access iTunes

As we reported on Monday, owners of first-generation Apple TV units discovered over the weekend that their favorite box couldn’t connect to iTunes. The issue appeared to affect Apple TV owners around the globe. Now, owners are reporting their first-gen boxes are once more connecting to the mothership.

MacRumors:

It appears that Apple has resolved the problem as of Tuesday, with many first-generation Apple TV owners reporting on Apple’s Support Communities that their Apple TVs are once again able to access iTunes.

The issues with the first-generation Apple TV units closely followed an issue where users who had iOS devices running iOS 6 finding the device unable to make FaceTime calls, leading some to speculate the issues could be related. However, iOS 6 users are still reporting issues with FaceTime.
