Microsoft Announces 12M Downloads of Office for iPad Apps in the First Week

Microsoft announced today the Office for iPad apps – Word, Excel, and Powerpoint – have collectively been downloaded 12 million times in their first week of release.

9to5Mac notes the number also included downloads of OneNote for iPad, which has been available for a few years now. Microsoft did not break the downloads down by individual app.

it only took a short time for the new Office for iPad apps to hit the top of the free charts in the App Store. (The apps are free to download, but require a $99 per year subscription to Office 365 to enable editing features.)
