Prong Announces The PWR Case – The All-in-One Power Solution for the iPhone 5/5S

Back in the fall of 2013 we told you about the Prong PocketPlug Charging Case for the iPhone 5/5s. One of the few things we didn’t like about it was that the case was merely a charger, not a battery case. Well, Prong has remedied that shortcoming, as they have announced their new Prong PWR Case, which includes a detachable backup battery.

From the Prong PWR News Release:

The Prong PWR Case includes a detachable backup battery and integrated plugs for charging in any outlet. The backup battery is easily detachable and can be recharged without any additional accessories while the smartphone remains with the user, safe in the inner-protective bumper. No matter how much someone uses their phone, they can have power all day with the Prong PWR case and their phone never has to leave their side.

The battery can be detached from the case and plugged into any outlet for recharging. When the back-up battery is charged, it quickly reconnects to the back of the case and can then recharge the iPhone while on the go.

The Prong PWR case also includes the same type of built-in A/C connector that PocketPlug does, so you can recharge the backup battery where there is an available A/C outlet. It also comes with a Micro USB port and included cable to recharge in a car, at a desk or anywhere with a USB outlet.

We’ve already reached out to Prong to get our hot little hands on a PWR to try out, and when we do, we’ll be sure to share our experiences with the case. Until then, for more information, visit the Prong website.
