Apple Cuts Online Apple Store Refund Times in Half

Apple has reportedly cut refund times for product returns on its online Apple store in half, says a Reuters report. Formerly, it took about ten days to receive a refund. Customers now receive a refund in less than a week.

The faster refund times can be directly attributed to Apple using a new expedited shipping service, FedEx 2Day. The service allows customers to ship returned products with prepaid labels to its warehouse in three days. Apple previously used Newgistics’ shipping services.

While this is a large upfront expense for Apple, Reuters reports that it could pay off in the long run if it helps lure online customers away from other online retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon.

The new expedited return service won’t cause any additional expenses for shoppers.
