Samsung Tries to Upstage Apple’s Healthbook Launch With Late May Health-Focused Event

Apple doesn’t even have to officially announce anything to get their competitors to react, as Samsung has announced a health-focused event for May 28th, mere days before Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation mobile and desktop operating systems at their Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple is widely expected to debut their “Healthbook” software at their event.

9to5Mac:

We’re going to go out on a limb here and assume that Samsung really wants to take credit for kicking off the “health” craze and capture as much attention as possible as the “first” to the game, but will likely end up sorely disappointed when Apple comes along and dominates the news cycle the following week. Again.

Apple is reportedly planning to reveal a health-focused app for iOS 8 next month, which will be paired with a piece of fitness hardware, possibly in cooperation with Nike. Apple has reportedly been working on the health-related software and hardware for the past year.
