Tim Cook Charity Lunch Auction Ends – Earns $330K for RFK Center

The second CharityBuzz auction, offering a lunch meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook at company headquarters in Cupertino ended today, resulting in a winning bid of $330,001. The money earned from the auction benefits the RFK Center for Justice & Human Rights.

MacRumors notes that the bidding was down quite a bit from last years auction, which brought in $610,000 for a coffee break meeting with Cook. (This year’s auction required a confirmed credit card in order to place a bid, likely keeping publicity seekers from bidding as they did in last year’s auction.)

The money earned from the auction will benefit the RFK Center for Justice & Human Rights, a charity that aims to achieve “a just and peaceful world by partnering with human rights leaders, teaching social justice and advancing corporate responsibility.”

The winning bidder gets to meet with Tim Cook for approximately one hour at the Apple Cupertino campus, on a “mutually agreed upon date.” While the cost of the meal is included in the bid, the winner must pay their own way when it comes to travel.

Cook sweetened the pot back on May 10th by adding a VIP guest spot at an upcoming Apple event.
