WWDC to Focus on OS X 10.10 – Apple Borrows iOS Developers to Help Finish New OS X Design

9to5Mac says Apple may be focusing on OS X 10.10 at WWDC 2014, giving the desktop OS more exposure than their mobile iOS operating system at the conference. Apple has reportedly been moving iOS user interface developers over to the desktop OS team to get the new design ready in time for the June developer’s conference.

While the two operating systems will remain separate, OS X may share some design similarities with iOS 7. The new look OS X could sport similar designs as iOS 7, with sharper window corners, more defined icons, and more white space all around.

The internal codename for OS X 10.10 is  “Syrah,” however the name it will actually ship under is unknown. Apple is reportedly securing the trademarks to such popular California locations, continuing the theme they started with OS X 10.9 “Mavericks.”

Apple is reported to be allowing some features they were planning for iOS 8 to slide to version 8.1. While Apple will present some new features next month, such functionality as transit functionality in Maps may not show up until later versions of iOS 8.
