OS X Yosemite Boasts Early Version of ‘Dark Mode’ – Available Via Terminal Command

Remember OS X Yosemite’s Dark Mode, which was demoed on stage at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, but has yet to show its face in the Settings Menu? It’s now available via a Terminal command in the latest beta of OS X 10.10.

The terminal command was discovered by iOS developer Hamza Sood. (Via MacRumors)

While the command enables an early version of dark mode, it appears it is not yet complete. Which explains why it’s not available as a Settings switch yet. As always, use caution when trying out the feature… (Insert standard “we take no responsibility if anything gets screwed up” disclaimer here…)

Dark Mode can be undone with a second Terminal command:

Enjoy.
