T-Mobile Says Over 12K Customers Have Signed Up For Their iPhone 5s ‘Test Drive’

T-Mobile Says Over 12K Customers Have Signed Up For Their iPhone 5s ‘Test Drive’

T-Mobile announced a new “Test Drive” feature earlier this week, that allows customers a free 7-day trial of an iPhone 5s on the T-Mobile cellular network. And, the Magenta carrier is already bragging about the sign-up numbers.

T-Mobile News Release:

More than 12,000 people have already signed up to start cheating on their carrier.  (Note to self: call Apple for more iPhones.)

Breaking down the numbers, that means 9 consumers per minute (around 500 per hour) have signed up for the T-Mobile week-long Test Drive. Since those consumers are already likely unhappy with their cellular service, (are you listening, Sprint?) T-Mobile is likely to reap quite a few new subscribers by the time their new gimmick has run its course.

We have to admit, simply claiming to have the most coverage, and the fastest network can get lost in all the noise these days. T-Mobile’s plan to allow users to take a test run on their 4G network with Apple’s top-of-the-line handset will likely break through all of the other hubbub, and score some additional subscribers who will gladly go Magenta.

T-Mobile’s new Test Drive program kicks-off on June 23rd, but you can pre-register for the deal here.
