‘Bog Racer’ Developer Claims ‘Swing Copters’ is a Clone of Their Game

Independent mobile game development studio Open Name claims “Swing Copters“, the new game from Flappy Bird developer┬áDong Nguyen, is a clone of their previously released game, “Bog Racer“.

From an email from Open Name:

Our game “Bog Racer” was released on July 24, 2014 (Apple Store). Developing a high-quality, well-balanced game took us over four months. We invested the last of our money into a modest advertising campaign to promote Bog Racer. And the result of our campaign is … the appearance clone from Dong Nguyen. His “new” game Swing Copters uses Bog Racer’s game mechanics.

Open Name goes on to claim that a large-scale advertising campaign by Swing Copter’s publisher is “killing our small business”. The company says it will use “all of our modest means to restore justice,” and will request the removal of Swing Copters from the app stores.

We’ve included screenshots and video of both games in this article, so you can be the judge of whether Swing Copter is a clone of Bog Racer. Please let us know what you think in the comments section below.

If android is not a copy of iOS, swing copters is not a copy of bog racers.
