Jawbone UP Data Shows How The Napa Earthquake Affected Users’ Sleep

iPhone users who have a Jawbone UP device strapped to their wrists are likely familiar with the data charts showing their sleep patterns during the night. However Northern California UP users likely have a whole different kind of pattern to peruse following the Napa earthquake early Sunday.

TUAW:

As you can see, shortly before 3:30 AM, huge numbers of UP wearers sprung from their beds thanks to the rumblings below their feet. Napa, Sonoma, Vallejo, and Berkeley were the quickest to wake thanks to their proximity to the epicenter, while other affected regions experienced a slight delay before having their sleep interrupted.

Jawbone’s blog notes that once awakened, it took awhile for residents to go back to sleep, especially in the areas that felt the shaking the strongest, with a full 45% of UP wearers less than 15 miles from the epicenter staying up the rest of the night.

Thankfully, no deaths were reported from the earthquake, and hopefully the residents in the area can soon get back to their daily lives and a restful night’s sleep.
