Murder Suspect Asked Siri For Help Hiding The Body

A murder suspect apparently asked Apple’s virtual assistant Siri for help in hiding the body of his victim. The accused also used his flashlight app on his iPhone for a total of 48 minutes on the same day.

Ars Technica:

Gainesville, Florida detective Matt Goeckel presented evidence in court Tuesday that showed the suspect, Pedro Bravo, telling Siri, “I need to hide my roommate.” He received as suggestions: “Swamps. Reservoirs. Metal Foundries. Dumps.”

Pedro Bravo, 20, stands accused of kidnapping and strangling his friend Christian Aguilar in September 2012 following an argument over Aguilar dating Bravo’s ex-girlfriend.

Gainesville Police say Bravo queried his iPhone for advice on where to hide roommate Aguilar’s body on September 20, 2012, after the two had a fight. Detective Goeckel also said that Bravo’s phone had no activity between 11:31pm and 12:01am on the night Aguilar disappeared. Police also say that location data gathered from the iPhone doesn’t fit with Bravo’s account of his movements that evening.

The Independent reports that Aguilar’s body was found in a shallow grave in the forest.

Just FYI, Siri no longer supplies helpful suggestions for the hiding of bodies. She was spending too much time testifying in court…
