A new set of photos from French Apple news site iPhonote (Google Translate), claims to show internal components allegedly destined for use in Apple’s upcoming iPad Air 2. The components pictured include a GPS antenna, microphone, and Wi-Fi module.
While previous leaks have shown off the device’s front panel and rear shell, these images could be the first look at the various internal components in the iPad Air 2.
The website also posted comparison images of the components in question, showing the alleged new part and its corresponding part from the current iPad Air. No major changes are evident, other than the next-generation iPad Air’s GPS antenna appears longer than the current model’s.
Apple is expected to introduce the next-generation iPad Air and the next version of the Retina iPad mini this fall. Reports indicate that iPad Air 2 will possibly feature a thinner design, an anti-reflective coating, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, faster A8 processor, and 2 GB of RAM.
