Apple Employee Reservation System Reportedly Not Allowing Reservations of iPhone 6 Plus

A photo said to be of a document issued by Apple to its retail store staff indicates employees working overnight or morning shifts on Friday, September 19 will be able to reserve an iPhone 6 for purchase later that day, but will not be able to reserve the larger – and likely to be in shorter supply – iPhone 6 Plus.

9to5Mac first noticed the above photo, tweeted by an anonymous Apple Store employee this morning. If the photo is legitimate – and 9to5Mac believes it is – it would lend further credence to the evidence of short supplies of the 5.5-inch Apple handset.

All models of the iPhone 6 Plus moved to a 3 to 4 weeks shipping estimate on the Apple Store online soon after preorders began at 12:01AM Pacific time on Friday, September 12. Numerous rumors flowed around the net prior to the launch, saying Apple’s 5.5-inch flagship device would be in short supply come release day.

In other Apple employee related news, it appears that Apple will be giving all retail employees a free iPhone 6… Wait for it… Poster.

9to5Mac reports the posters show a black iPhone, displaying one of the colorful flower wallpapers from iOS 8. Apple did give out free iPhones to its employees back in 2007, following the launch of the original handset, but hasn’t repeated the gesture since.
