Apple Relaunches TestFlight Beta Testing Management App

Earlier this year, we saw Apple acquire Burstly, the company behind the popular beta testing management service, TestFlight. Apple announced at WWDC 2014 that it would be relaunching TestFlight alongside iOS 8 as an integrated service for developers and testers.

MacRumors notes that hot on the heels of Apple’s redesign of their iTunes Connect web portal, the company has made public a link to a universal TestFlight iOS app in the App Store to allow users to install beta apps.

“TestFlight allows app developers to invite you to beta test their apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Once you join a developer’s beta test through their email invitation, TestFlight makes it easy to install or update to new beta versions as they become available.”

Note: The app requires you to be running iOS 8 on your device, and developers will need to send you invitations to a beta test, once the service becomes fully operational.

Apple is expected to announce the date for the public release of iOS 8 next week, at their September 9th event.
