Apple Looking at Downtown LA Expansion – Eyes Historic Broadway Trade Center

Apple is reportedly looking to expand its corporate presence in downtown Los Angeles, reports the Downtown LA Examiner. The report says the company is eyeing the historic Broadway Trade Center, which occupies almost a full city block.

MacRumors notes that Apple’s expansion in Los Angeles would be part of a 10-year-long “Bringing Back Broadway” initiative that has been working to revitalize the downtown district by attracting high-profile retailers and other businesses to the area.

The Examiner’s sources say Apple has signed a lease for “several hundred thousand” square feet of space in the Broadway building. Rumors say Apple will have a campus in the building, including office and retail space, and will include residential space(?). Beat Electronics may also have a presence in the new space.

The report is certainly at the “rumored” level at the moment, and the “residential space” mention certainly seems odd. So, this is another rumor to take with a grain of your favorite low-sodium seasoning until we find out more.
