Sources cited by arsTechnica report that Google Wallet service has seen the number of users almost double, with a 50% increase in weekly transactions during the past couple of months …

Google Wallet works in a way similar to that of Apple Pay, providing a virtual payment card on a smartphone, which is then used to pay at NFC compatible credit card terminals at stores. While the Google service doesn’t have the added security of Apple Pay’s fingerprint identification via Touch ID, the service does offer services not found in Apple’s payment solution, including gift cards and person-to-person payments.

Just FYI, Google Wallet is available on your iOS device, via an iOS app, which is available in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK] So, there’s that.
