AppleInsider:

Publicized through Apple’s official App Store Twitter account, the event set for tomorrow will see Stump, lead vocalist and guitarist of Fall Out Boy, discuss how Apple’s GarageBand fits in with his creative process. Stump is slated to appear at the SoHo Apple Store in New York City at 8 p.m., where he will also perform live.

The appearance is a part of Apple’s Apps for (RED) campaign which is part of a wider program designed to help fight the spread of AIDS around the globe.

Last week saw Apple announce a campaign for World AIDS Day in collaboration with (Product) RED which saw 25 well known apps in the App Store go (RED) in a special Apps for (RED) section in the store. The Apps for (RED) donation initiative will be active until December 7. All proceeds go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.

Black Friday, November 28 saw Apple offer a special (RED) iTunes gift card with the purchase of select Apple products in-store and online. Today, December 1st will see Apple donate a portion of every sale at its retail and online stores to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.

Apple sells a number of (Product) RED items in its store, with a percentage of the profits going to the fight against AIDS. Earlier this year, (Product) RED announced that Apple had contributed $75 million so far to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.

The SoHo Apple stores is a popular venue for sessions with actors, musicians, directors and more. On Friday, Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, and Tavi Gevinson, will be in store to discuss their new film “This Is Our Youth.” On December 10, “Downton Abbey” cast members Hugh Bonneville, Allen Leech, and Rob James-Collier are scheduled to appear.

More information about the events can be found at the SoHo Apple Store’s webpage.
