Rumor: 12″ MacBook Air w/ Retina Display to Enter Production Q1 2015

We think we have time to squeeze in one more rumor before the holidays begin in earnest… Apple’s 12″ MacBook Air with Retina Display is rumored to be set to go into production in the first quarter of 2015. Digitimes – the always with a grain of salt rumor source – reports the new ultra-light will boast Intel Broadwell processors, and a new ultra-thin design.

MacRumors:

The new notebook is also expected to be available in limited supply when it launches due to yield issues with components, and will be primarily manufactured by Quanta Computer.

Previous rumors have indicated Apple is working on a new form factor for the MacBook Air, with a buttonless trackpad and a fan-less processor cooling system. Intel recently debuted new low power Broadwell Core M processors, which would likely be the powerhouse behind the new MacBook Air.

As alway, this is all conjecture and shadows until an official announcement from Apple, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground and let you know what’s coming.
