CES 2015: Otterbox Debuts ‘Resurgence’ Power Case for iPhone 6

Otterbox announced their new ‘Resurgence‘ power case for the iPhone 6 at CES 2015 on Monday. The Resurgence is designed to give two-times the battery life of the iPhone 6, while protecting it with military grade drop protection.

“Resurgence is one of the most innovative product lines we’ve ever released,” said President and CEO Pete Lindgren. “At CES, we’ll preview the year ahead with fresh designs that incorporate new technology, all in line with our legacy of engineered confidence and trusted protection.”

Resurgence provides 2,600 milliamp hours (mAh) of battery power, resulting in more than two-times the battery life of the iPhone 6. Otterbox says the two-piece snap case is made up of a specially formulated polycarbonate to improve impact resistance and absorb energy from drops and bumps, and notes the Resurgence meets MIL STD 810G-516.6, a third-party test that drops the case on all faces, edges and corners from four feet.

The battery case also notices when the iPhone 6 is at a full charge, and shuts off the power from the case to save battery power for when it is needed. Resurgence also supports syncing without needing to remove the case, and also includes a headphone jack extender.
