Popular sandwich chain Firehouse Subs announced on Thursday that Apple Pay will be available as a payment option at its more than 860 locations across the United States.

“Innovation and exceptional customer service are two core values at Firehouse Subs and as the No. 1 fast casual brand, we are excited to bring Apple Pay to our restaurants,” says Don Fox, CEO, Firehouse of America, LLC. “By moving in this direction, Firehouse Subs is able to provide our guests an easy, secure and private way to make mobile payments.”

Firehouse joins a growing number of restaurants now accepting Apple’s mobile payments service via their contactless credit card terminals.

Firehouse Subs is a quickly growing fast food chain, with locations in 43 states. The chain plans to open more than 2,000 restaurants by 2020. (MacTrast… OK, I highly recommend the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub. – Ed.)

Apple Pay, introduced in the United States last October, is now supported by over 100 financial institutions, recently adding 20 new banks to the list.

Tuesday saw Visa Europe announce that its contactless payment terminals in Europe will be Apple Pay-ready by mid-April.

The payments service has proven popular in the U.S. following its October 2014 debut, quickly grabbing 1% of all digital payment dollars in the month of November.
