Apple Reseller Simply Mac Acquires The Mac Store Chain

Apple reseller Simply Mac has acquired the The Mac Store, a chain of Apple reseller stores in the Northwestern part of the United States. The Mac Store has locations in Oregon, and the state of Washington.

The Mac Store’s Seattle Location

Simply Mac is a chain of authorized Apple resale and repair shops that focuses on smaller markets where Apple has not shown interest in opening its own stores.

MacTrast reported last year that Simply Mac parent company, GameStop, planned to aggressively expand the Simply Mac chain, acquiring the MacAuthority and PeachMac Apple Reseller chains, and now The Mac Store. The chain has also expanded its footprint by opening new locations throughout the U.S.

The Simply Mac chain was founded in Utah in 2006, and grew to eight stores by October 2012. GameStop acquired a 49.9% stake in the Apple reseller at that time. November 2013 saw GameStop exercise its option to purchase the rest of the operation, which now numbers 71 stores, an admirable jump from the 23 locations they had this time last year.

The Mac Store has 10 locations in Oregon and Washington, offering both new and used Apple products, and training. The Mac Store stores will continue to operate under the “Mac Store” branding for now.
