Watch, as an Apple Watch Sapphire Display Undergoes Torture Tests

iPhonefixed, the iPhone service and repair site, got its paws on an Apple Watch sapphire crystal, as is used to protect the screen of the mid-range and high-end Watch models, and decided to put it through a set of torture tests.

As seen in the video above, the group ran the Apple Watch sapphire crystal through a set of torture tests, including rubbing it against a stone wall, scratching it with a key, rubbing it with abrasive paper, and even tapping it with a hammer, and drilling it with a power driven drill bit. Not a single scratch, dent, or scuff was seen on the crystal.

While iPhonefixed wasn’t able to subject the Apple Watch Sport’s Ion-X glass display cover to the same set of tests, it will likely hold up fairly well, just don’t try to hit it with a hammer, or run a drill bit through it.
