Apple Preps for In-Store Pickup of Apple Watch Orders

Apple is now preparing to rollout the in-store pickup option for online Apple Watch orders. Online orders of the new wearable device show a disabled in-store pickup option at the moment, but this is expected to be enabled once local stores begin to receive shipments.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the item now includes a “ghosted” option to select “pick up” as an option for delivery. At the moment, the option carries a note of “available soon.”

Upon arrival at the store, customers will need to present a valid government-issued photo ID, and the name must match the name on the reservation in order to pick up the product.

Apple launched the device as an online only sale item, disappointing many, who didn’t get to experience the usual camping out, and long lines at Apple Store that are usually associated with the rollout of a new Apple device.

When the option becomes available, we’ll hopefully know more about delivery times, and supplies of the device at Apple Retail stores, so shoppers can make an informed decision on whether to go with home delivery, or pickup in-store.
