Express Clothing Chain Now Accepting Apple Pay

The number of retailers accepting Apple Pay continues to inch up, as Tuesday saw clothing retail chain Express begin accepting Apple’s mobile payments solution at all of its outlets in the United States.

AppleInsider:

The move was confirmed by AppleInsider checks with stores in Austin, Chicago, Miami, New York City, and San Francisco. Two stores stated that Apple Pay is expected to roll out nationwide beginning today.

So far, only a few clothing chains have cast their lot with Apple Pay. Clothing stores currently accepting the payment system include Aeropostale, Bloomingdales, Foot Locker, Macy’s, and Sports Authority. Apparel retailers promising support for Apple Pay down the road  include Anthropologie, Free People, L.L. Bean, and Urban Outfitters.

The last few weeks have seen more retailers accepting Apple’s contactless payment system, including both Home Depot, and Trader Joe’s.

Also on Tuesday, Apple Pay added 34 more financial institutions to its rolls, bringing the number of banks and credit unions supporting it to just under 300.
