Respected KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has told clients that he believes Apple will announce its next-generation iPhones in August, followed up by a September launch.

Kuo: Apple to Debut Next-Generation iPhone in August With September Launch

It should be noted that Apple has never unveiled an iPhone in August, as all previous handsets have been announced in June, or September. (The iPhone 4s was announced in October 2011.) Also, Kuo has been wrong on his timing for launch predictions in the past.

Kuo’s research note, first obtained by The China Post, also says Foxconn will assemble between 60 percent and 70 percent of the new handsets, due to its high yield rate track record with previous handsets. Kuo also says the Taiwanese manufacturing company will be the sole assembly partner for Apple’s much-rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro”

Kuo recently predicted that the next-generation iPhone will feature Force Touch, an improved 12-megapixel camera, improved Touch ID, an A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, and more.
