AC/DC To Stream Tracks Via Apple Music As Early as Today

A report from Monday claims rock legends AC/DC will allow their music to be streamed via music subscription services, including Apple Music. Tunes from the long-time streaming holdouts could begin streaming as early as today.

AppleInsider:

An anonymous source informed The New York Times that the band has embraced subscription-based streaming services and will make an undisclosed number of tracks available on Apple Music, Spotify and Rdio.

The Australian rock group – which has sold 72 million albums in the United States alone, according to the Recording Industry Association of America – was among the last to join in the digital music revolution, holding out until 2012, when it made a deal with Apple to offer its classic library for download via iTunes. The group offered a special edition collection that included demo tracks and other digital exclusives.

Apple Music is scheduled for release today, June 30. The service will debut alongside the release of iOS 8.4 at 8AM Pacific time. The Beats 1 radio station will debut one hour later, offering its first broadcast at 9AM Pacific.
