The Much-Rumored 12.9-inch ‘iPad Pro’ Could Launch in November

The much-rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” could see a November launch, if a report from the semi-reliable DigiTimes blog is to be believed. The blog reports Apple partner Foxconn is gearing up to start supplying components for the bigger tablet in late September.

MacRumors:

Apple reportedly remains cautious about placing orders for the “iPad Pro” from suppliers due to declining iPad sales and weakening demand in the overall tablet market.

As always, consider the source on rumors such as this, and be sure to always take any rumors with a grain of your favorite salt substitute or similar seasoning. It should also be noted though that the rumor does jibe with previous reports that Apple would launch the “iPad Pro” in the second-half of this year. Plus, Apple’s usual October timeframe for iPad announcements would go well with a November release.

Last month, Taiwanese iOS developer Hiraku Wang shared his discovery of iOS 9 beta code that indicates the 12.9-inch tablet could have a 2,732×2,048 display at 264 PPI, the same pixel density as the iPads from the third-generation through the iPad Air 2. Another discovery, this one by iPhone developer Steven Troughton-Smith, shows the iOS 9 beta iPad keyboard can scaled to a larger size, with rearranged keys, offering an extra row of numeric keys.

Like we noted previously, take this for what it is, a rumor. We’ll keep you informed if we hear any solid news of the rumored device.
