Google for iOS Updated: Always-On ‘Ok Google,’ Better Local Search, More

Google has released an update to its iOS app. Version 7.0 of the app adds always-on “Ok Google,” access, more detailed local search results, and the ability to copy and paste from anywhere in the app.

From the App Store Page:

What’s New in Version 7.0

• Say “Ok Google” and ask a question while on any web page to get smart answers about what you are looking at. Try saying “Ok Google, where was he born” while reading an article about William Shakespeare
• More detailed local search results
• Copy and paste from anywhere in the app

The “Ok Google,” feature is context sensitive. For example, if you’re reading an article on a webpage about Robert Downey Jr., you can say “Ok Google, when was he born?” If you’re viewing a restaurant webpage, you can say, “Ok Google, how far away is this?”

The updated app also includes more detailed local search results, such as hours of merchants, and pricing of merchandise. It also offers copy and paste support from anywhere in the app.

Current users of the app should receive the update automatically, and new users can download the app for free from the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
