Samsung Ups the Ante by $100 – $200 to Lure Away iPhone Customers

Samsung has sweetened the deal on its “Ultimate Test Drive” program, which is designed to lure iPhone users into the Android fold. In addition to a one-month free trial of the latest Galaxy S smartphone, they’ll also pay users up to $200 if they purchase the phone.

9to5Mac:

For those who end up purchasing the phone, Samsung will give them $100 of Google Play credit which can be used to buy apps and other content.

In addition, those trading in an iPhone when they purchase a Samsung device will also receive a $100 check from the South Korean device maker, on top of whatever a carrier gives you for your trade-in.

Samsung has seen sliding profits for its mobile division in recent quarters, as a number of customers have been lured away by Apple’s large screened iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets. Now that Apple handsets have larger screens, Samsung is looking for new ways to set itself apart from other smartphones. The Ultimate Test Drive promotion is just one part of that effort.
