In what seems to be a release frenzy of sorts, Apple has released the third beta of iOS 9.1 to developers and public beta testers. Apple also today released iOS 9.0.2, as well as OS X 10.11 El Capitan to the public.

The new beta, build 13B5130b, is available as both an over-the-air update on iOS devices running iOS 9.1, or via download in the Apple Developer Center.

OS 9.1 adds support for the upcoming iPad Pro, including support for the SmartKeyboard, and Apple Pencil. Both accessories, and iOS 9.1, are due to be released alongside the new tablet in November. iOS 9.1 also includes support for Unicode 8, with new emoji, including a taco, a burrito, unicorn, hot dog, a middle finger, and more.

While iOS 9.1 is currently only available to developers and members of the public beta program, it is expected to be released to the public in November, alongside the iPad Pro.

I assume that the purpose of this update is to leave even more long-time Mac customers behind. The new Pro will probably only sync with a 2018 iMac running OS X Death Valley.

    1. Willis Love says:

LOL @ OS X Death Valley. hahaha
