Apple Adds “Back to the Future Day” Replies to Siri’s Repertoire of Quips

Apple occasionally updates some of Siri’s quips to keep her relevant, and today is no exception. Users who greet Apple’s virtual personal assistant with “Happy back to the future day,” are treated to a number of humorous replies.

Just a few of the replies include:

  • “Happy Back to the Future Day. Let me know if you need to set a timer for your dehydrated pizza.”
  • “Be careful who you date today, or you could start disappearing from photos…”
  • “Happy Back to the Future Day! Maybe the Cubs will win the World Series in the year… oh, never mind.” (My personal favorite.)
  • “Happy Back to the Future Day! Strap on those power-lacing shoes and grab a hoverboard!”

The reason for “Back to the Future Day,” is the movie Back to the Future II, where featured characters Marty McFly and Doc Brown time travel to October 21, 2015 in their DeLorean-based time machine.

The movie itself was pretty hit-and-miss on things it got right about today’s “future world,” correctly predicting drones, fingerprint recognition, voice controlled televisions, and electronic payments. It missed on things such as the predicting the continued 2015 popularity of fax machines, newspapers, and pay phones.

We didn’t include all of Siri’s Back to the Future replies, because we didn’t want to spoil it for you. Have fun discovering all of her quips, and let us know which ones are your favorite in the comments section below.
