Apple Seeds Beta Five of iOS 9.1 to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Apple on Monday seeded the fifth beta of iOS 9.1 to both developers and public beta testers for testing. The new seed comes just one week after the release of the fourth beta.

The new beta – build 13B137 for developers, and 13B5137 for public testers – is available both as an over-the-air update, and a download from the Apple Developer Center. MacRumors notes there is a second beta build – 13B139, (13B5139 for public testers) – is available just for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users.

iOS 9.1 adds support for the upcoming iPad Pro, including support for the SmartKeyboard, and Apple Pencil. Both accessories, and iOS 9.1, are due to be released alongside the new tablet in November. iOS 9.1 also includes support for Unicode 8, with new emoji, including a taco, a burrito, unicorn, hot dog, a middle finger, and more.

While iOS 9.1 is currently only available to developers and members of the public beta program, it is expected to be released to the public in November, alongside the iPad Pro and Apple TV.
