T-Mobile’s ‘Un-carrier Unwrapped’ Promo Offers Free LTE Data for All Simple Choice Customers for Three Months

T-Mobile on Monday announced a new promotion for the holiday season. It’s new “Un-carrier Unwrapped” promo offers free unlimited LTE data to all of the carrier’s Simple Choice customers for the next three months.

T-Mobile:

The holidays are for connecting with family and friends. In fact, data usage on T-Mobile’s network jumps more than 10% in December. The last thing customers want to worry about is their data, so T-Mobile is taking that worry away. For the next three months, everybody – all active Simple Choice postpaid customers as of end of day November 23, including business customers – has Unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data once you use up all your data and your Data Stash.

The carrier plans to offer a new “gift” every week, including three that will be of special interest to customers of other carriers.

“We’ve had a fantastic year, and we’re going to spread that T-Mobile cheer by starting with the most important people first… our existing customers! Now you get Unlimited LTE data on our blazing fast network for three full months as a gift from the Un-carrier to you,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “But that’s not all….we know that Verizon, AT&T and Sprint customers need some holiday cheer, too – so we’ve got presents coming for them. Just wait!”

Simple Choice customers will see the unlimited data pail filled up on December 1, 2015, and the pail will remain full through March 1, 2016. The unlimited data will kick in once a customer’s existing data plan and Data Stash have been used up. One catch: The Magenta carrier does require the customer to have its Binge On video streaming service turned on. (That’s called “incentive,” boys and girls… Can you say it with me? “Incentive.” I knew you could.)

The Binge On service offers T-Mobile customers unlimited video streaming which does not eat into their data plans. The service uses a data compression algorithm that streams video at a reduced 480p quality.
