AgileBits Introduces 1Password for Families – $5 Per Month For 5 Users

AgileBits, developer of the popular 1Password password manager for iOS, Mac, and a number of other platforms, has introduced 1Password for Families, which allows each family member to have their own private individual 1Password account, but also allows a shared group of passwords that all members of the family can access.

Users can place passwords that multiple members of the family would need to access, such as the home Wi-Fi network password, or the login for Netflix or Hulu. In addition, members can still keep their own personal passwords private, as there is an Admin Console that offers tools to manage which family member gets access to which passwords, as well as tools to set up new users.

The system allows restoring access to family members who forget their master password, allows sharing of items and documents, and more. Syncing is built-in, and the $5 per month membership fee allows up to 5 users. Additional users can be added for $1 per month, per person.

AgileBits is offering a launch special for users who sign-up before March 21st.

  1. $10 added to your account (an extra 2 months free)
  2. Twice the amount of secure storage for your documents (that’s 2 GB)
  3. The ability to invite two more family members for free! (that’s 7 family members for only $5)

The 1Password app is available for iOS, Mac, Windows, and Android devices.
