Apple TV Universal Search Adds Watch ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Jr.

Four new content sources were added to the Universal Search option on the fourth-generation Apple TV on Monday, bringing the number of sources available in the search function to 14. Programming from the Watch ABC, Disney XD, Disney Channel and Disney Jr. apps are now included in search results via the Siri Button on the Siri Remote.

MacRumors:

At launch, universal search only worked with iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, HBO (Now and Go) and Showtime (Regular and Anytime). Apple had promised to expand the feature and the number of sources included over time and has, thus far, delivered on that promise. Last month, Apple added FOX NOW, FX NOW and National Geographic as sources; in January, Apple added PBS and PBS Kids.

Content providers that are included in Universal Search results now include:

  • United States: Movies and TV shows in iTunes, HBO GO, HBO NOW, Hulu, Netflix, PBS, PBS Kids, SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME Anytime, FOXNOW, FXNOW, Nat Geo TV, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Jr, Watch ABC
  • Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and United Kingdom: Movies and TV shows available on the iTunes Store and Netflix
  • Other countries and regions: Movies in iTunes

Apple is expected to continue offering new content providers in the Apple TV Universal Search results in the future. It has slowly been opening up its Universal Search API up to additional partners.
