Alleged Photo of New 4-inch iPhone Packaging Supports ‘iPhone SE’ Name

Those wacky guys in the Chinese supply chain have been at it again, leaking a photo of what is allegedly the packaging for the new 4-inch iPhone. The photo indicates the device will indeed carry the “iPhone SE” moniker.

The photo, (seen above), indicates the iPhone SE will have a base storage capacity of 16GB, will include NFC capabilities for Apple Pay support, Lightning connectivity, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also support LTE on GSM and CDMA networks internationally.

Apple is expected to announce the “iPhone SE” at next Monday’s media event. It is expected to boast an A9 processor, an improved rear camera, and NFC support, making it compatible with Apple Pay. It is also expected to support Live Photos, but not 3D Touch.

A new 9.7-inch iPad is also expected to make the scene, with features inherited from the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. (Some expect the new tablet to carry the “Pro” designation.) The new tablet is expected to offer a four-speaker setup, a Smart Connector for connecting accessories, and is also expected to be compatible with the Apple Pencil.

New Apple Watch bands are also expected to debut at the event, with existing bands being offered in new colors, plus possible new bands – such as a much-rumored nylon band, as well as a Space Black Milanese Loop.

As always for reports like this. take it with a grain of your favorite low-sodium seasoning. All will be made clear come Monday at Apple’s upcoming event, scheduled for 10:00AM Pacific, 1:00PM Eastern time. MacTrast will provide coverage of the event, as it happens.
