deadmau5 to Join Beats 1 Show Lineup With ‘mau5trap presents’

Music producer and performer Joel Thomas Zimmerman, AKA deadmau5, will join Apple Music’s Beats 1 lineup on Friday. The artist will headline his own show, titled “mau5trap presents,” which debuts at 3PM PST on Friday, March 18.

So far, information about the show is limited to an announcement via Twitter from the Beats 1 account. However, considering the work deadmau5 is known for, the show could be expected to focus heavily on electronic dance music. It is also not known if this is a one-shot special, or if the show will have a weekly presence on Beats 1.

Zimmerman was most recently in the news due to his “feud” with Kanye West over West’s alleged pirating of music creation software and albums. While Zimmerman was a supporter of Jay-Z’s TIDAL streaming service, also promoted by West, the Beats 1 show could indicate a change in allegiance over to Apple’s streaming service.
